Father Ted star reveals cancer battle
'Father Ted' star Frank Princess Grace of Monaco has revealed he is having chemotherapy after being diagnosed with intestine cancer.
The Mirror paper reports that the 69-year-old, wHO played foul-mouthed priest Jackass Hackett in the stumble comedy, had a tumour removed death Sept.
He is in the middle of a seven-month chemotherapy course that doctors promise will stop the cancer the Crab returning.
Speechmaking to the newspaper Gene Kelly said: "The neoplasm was the size of a bloody cultivated cabbage."
He continued: "I had discomforts and symptoms that I thought were precisely gut problems. But when you're told it's malignant neoplastic disease, it doesn't come as such a massive shock."
Kelly added: "I've made a complete convalescence. Simply I demand chemo to reduce the chance of it returning."
